DATELINE MONDAY 7TH NOVEMBER 2022

Good morning, happy autumnal Monday morning, the wind is blowing, the rain is falling and its chilly but here I am to brighten up your Monday morning with jovial good wishes, I hope all is well with you.

Halloween √ Diwali √ Fireworks night previously knowns as Guy Fawkes night √ Black Friday is soon going to happen I think that is just before USA thanksgiving on 24th November once that is done its rapidly downhill till the Winter Festival that I won’t mention till 1st December. My diet has started to ensure I have room or is it called bandwidth these day for mince pies, stollen, winter festival pudding and custard of course as well as the awesome ginger German cookies that seem to arrive about this time of year.

Welcome to the week of World Travel Market at Excel in very far east London if you can get there of course, the train strike was called off at the very last minute, (well done RMT geezers) Karl Braunecker of Hello Islands DMC Mauritius (formerly known as Connections DMC Mauritius) is in town exhibiting at WTM on the Mauritius national stand so if you do happen to find yourself at WTM do pop along and say hello. I had planned to go to WTM I had a few meetings and WTM was the ideal place to meet then the train strike was announced so I rearranged the meetings in Central London in fact I had one meeting last night with TRAVCO DMC in Marble Arch and a few more throughout the week all in Central London, anyway WTM is not really my marketplace there is a little spill over but not much.

The news is a bit thin this week mostly about COP 27 in Egypt will he go? wont he go? yes I am talking about our PM Mr Rishi Sunak, I think by and large he has made the right choice to go, at least put in appearance even if he doesn’t stay too long. It’s interesting that since Egypt is in the headlines with regards to Cop 27 and the fact that it was 100 years ago that Tutankhamun’s tomb was discovered we have had three recent conference and incentive requests for Egypt which I have sent to the TRAVCO DMC Egypt team to handle.

That’s it, you are up to date from a David point of view
