Happy Monday morning greetings I hope all is well with you. As we edge closer to the start of Spring there is some heat in the sun and I am a very happy Monday morning e mail author although we did have a rather chilly weekend, that blooming north wind when it blows it blows cold for sure.

First and most important as I guess 80% of the Monday morning e mail readership or perhaps I should say DELETERSHIP of the Monday blog are of the opposite persuasion may I take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy International Women's Day which as you know is tomorrow 8th March 2022

International Women’s Day (IWD), honours the achievements of women and promotes women’s rights. A national holiday in numerous countries, it has been sponsored by the United Nations (UN) since 1975. International Women’s Day grew out of efforts in the early 20th century to promote women’s rights, especially suffrage. In its campaign for female enfranchisement, the Socialist Party of America in 1909 held the first National Woman’s Day, which was highlighted by mass meetings across the United States; the day was observed until 1913. Encouraged by German activist Clara Zetkin, the International Socialist Congress agreed in 1910 to create an international version of the U.S. holiday, and on March 19, 1911, the first IWD was held in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland.

The World News is the tragedy and devastation in Ukraine it has driven COVID totally from the daily new round up, I think I preferred COVID, at least that was a natural disaster.

Southern Africa

Shaun, Brad and the team at The Inside Edge Southern Africa the DMC we have been representing since 1999 have told us that the Stanley & Livingstone Boutique Hotel is scheduled to reopen on 1st April. This special and quite frankly unique hotel is just a 10-minute drive from Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, it has just had a $6 million refurbishment.

The Stanley & Livingstone Boutique Hotel is in the Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve, the hotel is PERFECT (yes I am shouting) for a buyout it is a serene retreat where guests can enjoy activities such as gorge swings and game drives. The property has 16 suites, a spa, gym, landscaped gardens and a waterhole. A waterhole in the South African savannah is the perfect place to see all kinds of wildlife.

Greece

Nassos and the team at AME DMC Greece has told us that the completion of a Passenger Locator Form (PLF) by visitors from all countries for their entry into Greece is to be abolished from March 15th 2022.

Austria

Martin, Evelyn and the team at e+o meeting, event & travel management the DMC that MM and Company represents in Austria who are based in Vienna but work throughout Austria in Salzburg, Innsbruck and other major Austrian centres tells us that Vienna has a new hotel the Radisson RED Vienna located in what is called Vienna’s second district Leopold stadt, situated right on the Danube River. The hotel has 172 rooms and 7 suites the hotel also has a terrific rooftop bar and terrace. There is meeting space for up to 80 delegates
