DATELINE MONDAY 5TH SEPTEMBER 2022

Good Monday morning happy September well I hope it will be, how was your long weekend yeah I know a thing of the distant past, fear not the next bank holiday is only fifteen weeks away 😊

Summer holidays are all but done, the schools are back this week, University starts at the end of the month, Airports and immigration return to some form of business as usual. We have another three weeks of summer till it officially ends on Friday 23rd September, soak up the sun people it will be out this week at least some of the time.

This week I am spending five day with Mr Stephane Louise, Operations Director of Hello Islands DMC Mauritius (formerly known as Connections DMC) one of our terrific DMCs. We have a number of meetings scheduled, we are both very much looking forward to seeing some existing clients, some new clients with potential for a group or two to Mauritius and also meeting up with some industry strategic partners and friends. So that is why on Sunday afternoon at 3.30PM my Monday morning e mail is ready to be sent.

Will it be Liz or Rishi? not long to go till we find out who will be the next Prime Minister of this amazing United Kingdom. It occurred to me that perhaps the mathematicians and the Economists should work out how much inflation is without factoring in the Energy price rises the whole of Europe is experiencing. If that could be done I am sure everyone will be a lot more positive about the future especially if the energy bills are frozen as on next Tuesday afternoon when the Prime Minister is behind his or her desk.

MM and Company news update

Dubai and Abu Dhabi ( Just in case you missed this announcement last week)

MM and Company have successfully represented a DMC in Dubai and Abu Dhabi since 1999 all of the DMCs we represent and recommend have in one way shape or form have survived the ravages of COVID. Some DMCs have slimed down others have stayed the same, compact as always. One DMC sadly has been unsuccessful in rebuilding their DMC team and therefore has been unable to deliver the quality that you, my clients demand (and I should add we demand) of the DMC and therefore I have had to tell the DMC that I can no longer, with confidence represent them and recommend their services to you, our client. HOWEVER and there is always a however I had seen the writing on the wall for a while and I have linked up with the General Manager of the DMC in Dubai and Abu Dhabi we first represented way back in 1999 who is now General Manager of the DMC MM and Company has agreed to represent.

Tulum Mexico

Manuel, Liliana and the team at The EPIC Group DMC have told us that Nobu Hospitality have announced the launch of a Nobu hotel, restaurant, and residences in Tulum, Mexico. This is the brand’s 30th hotel globally, Tulum is known for its white sand beaches, coastal Mayan ruins and one of the world’s largest barrier reefs. Tucked away in the Riviera Maya, Nobu Hotel Tulum will have 200 guestrooms and suites, including 12 villas, a beachfront Nobu restaurant, meeting space and outdoor venues for events, a fitness centre and spa, as well as 50 beachside residences. I have one comment make, me a reservation now!
