Dateline Monday 18th September 2023

Good morning yes its Monday morning again I hope all is well with you. This is the first autumnal morning of September; we have had quite a good run so far July weather in September now apparently according to Tomasz Schafernaker the BBC meteorologist the weather is going to be warmish, quite rainy and generally not so nice as of late, hoo hummm.

However, we are very lucky as I have said several times, we do not have earthquakes or monsoon type rain fall like they did in Libya, poor souls, poor in many ways not only have they has 10 years of two waring governments trying to run a failing county they have had a dreadful loss of life due to huge amounts of rain and poorly maintained dams and infrastructure.

A show of hands please, hands up all those who are surprised about the Russell Brand revelations, not many then, that was an exposé waiting to happen, yes we were all surprised at the Huw Edwards revelations but Mr Brand, please !

Tragic scenes on the tiny Italian island of Lampedusa, thousands of desperate people aka illegal immigrants looking for a new life in Europe, such a polarising situation I am not going to comment further but I know what I would do to find a better life for my family if I were in a similar situation.

On the high street aka Finchley Road W H Smiths has a window display of Halloween paraphernalia for sale, give me a break, having said that the Christmas advertising for venue holidays and chuchkies has also well and truly started.

Evey week I ask the DMCs MM and Company represents for news of what’s going on in their destination, what new venues and hotels have opened, what new activities has been launch and more often than not I get the odd snippet of information that I can share with you.
