Dateline Monday 11th March 2024
Good morning, happy Monday I hope all is well
Spring is in the air, Easter is bring talked about, daffs are £1 for a bunch buy one get one free, Hot Cross buns are selling like hot cakes 😊 and the sun is shining. I don’t think it rained at all last week at least that was the case on the streets of London W10 and NW6 so the rain we didn’t have last week has been saved up and was visited on us on Sunday when it rained the entire day.
On to my soap box how I miss Speakers’ Corner in Hyde Park, Super Tuesday in the USA has been and gone and Trump is now the only Republican Party candidate for the Presidential Election to be held in November so no surprise there then, Biden is the only candidate for the Democrats, I have a problem with this situation as both candidates cannot stand for a third term so whatever they do during their second term either man that is they don’t have to keep an eye on doing things that may influence their chance of re-election simply because the law says they can’t be re-elected that in my humble opinion is not a good thing for the USA or indeed The World.
Today is the 157th day Israeli babies, toddles, children, teens, women, men and seniors have been held hostage in the Hamas terror tunnels in Gaza, sadly as Hamas is hiding in Rafah the Israel Defence Force has been ordered into Rafah to root out the terrorists that are hiding amongst and behind the civilian population.
Seems like the politicians are at last thinking outside the box when it comes to supplying aid to the citizens of Gaza with aid being sent via parachute and via sea from Cyprus in a Spanish ship, Gaza has a considerable coastline, sadly it will be the strongest that will benefit from the aid and I guess that will be the Hamas fighters.
Yesterday The Dutch Nation opened the Dutch Holocaust Museum in Amsterdam commemorating and remembering the 102,000 Dutch Jews and minorities that were murdered by the Nazis between 1939 and 1945. The inevitable trendy wokery left wing sheeple (people following each other not knowing where to or why) were at the opening shouting about Gaza which had not even been thought of before or during the second world war.
It’s the Oscars, a bit predictable this year, the Golden Globes led the way and the Oscars confirmed it Oppenheimer was the big winner together with Billie Eilish, her song from the film Barbie won the Oscar her second Oscar an amazing achievement for this 22 year old singer.
Yesterday was the start of Ramadan there are several wishes to wish someone a happy Ramadan the two most popular are Ramadan Mubarak — 'Happy Ramadan The phrase means 'Blessed Ramadan'. If you want to use English, saying "Happy Ramadan" works or Ramadan Kareem 'May Ramadan be generous to you'
Finally, such a lovely photo, published yesterday of King Charles III and his Mum our late Queen Elizabeth, I hope all mums had a wonderful Mother’s Day, such an important day naturally I, as I do every day remember my Mum who left us in January 2023
And dear reader that is about it from a David point of view for this week at least.
