DATELINE MONDAY 10TH JANUARY 2022

Good morning, Happy New Year and welcome to my first Monday morning Omicron, COVID 19 free blog, twitter and wittering linked in, snap chatty type update for this year 2022

I hope all is well and that you had a great end of year break. Are you ready for whatever 2022 will throw at us? I am ready 😊 I am also very ready to DUCK.

One of my favourite saying is oh so true “we live in interesting times”. I just hope they don’t get any more interesting than they are already. It will be Chinese New Year soon I wonder if they will make this year the Year of the Bug?

So whilst we all celebrate a new year, a new beginning it seems that at last common sense has broken out in Government circles. It appears that as of last Friday 7th January, fully vaccinated travellers to England will no longer need to provide proof of a negative PCR test upon arrival. I understand from the BBC News that fully vaccinated travellers as well as those who are 18 and under will only have to take a test on arrival and won’t need to self-isolate while awaiting the result. From yesterday 9th January, fully vaccinated travellers will only have to take a rapid antigen lateral flow test instead of a PCR test on Day 2 Unvaccinated travellers will continue to take a pre-departure test, a PCR test on Day 2 and 8, and self-isolate for 10 days.

I guess that is all very well for people coming in to the UK but what is the procedure for people wanting to travel from the UK? I just hope that in the not too distant future the World will follow the UK lead and accept double vaccinated traveller full stop and that ALL borders will be open worldwide to UK citizens.

A right old hoooo haaaaa with the case of Novak Djokovic or as What’s App is calling him No Vax Djokovic. Very controversial, was he advised incorrectly or was he trying to buck the system? Here is an idea he should show what a good sport he is and PUBLICLY get vaccinated on camera to show that EVERYONE SHOULD BE VACCINATED. OK I do get that his fitness his body is his temple and it is a fine tuned tennis winning machine and he does not want to introduce anything that may change the fine-tuned status he enjoys. We know that the vaccination cannot prevent you from getting COVID it does help to ensure that if you are vaccinated and you get COVID the virus attack is a milder one that if you were not vaccinated at all.

So the England Cricket Team has salvaged if that’s what you can call it a draw against Australia, I think they need to know that the idea is to win. Clearly they were delighted with the draw, the Auzzie Captain was a bit too smug on the TV news on Sunday.

MM and Company news update

I am DELIGHTED to report that the year has got off to a reasonable start, it seems that Q1 may not be the vacant quarter that was forecast, sadly it won’t be full by any means.

Q2 is looking better than it did a month ago.
