Dateline Monday 10th February 2025

Good morning, yikkees its Monday again, the weeks roll by but the weekends totally disappear, a few of my older friends and acquaintances as well as a sibling or two have retired, so their weekends are very, very long (seven day weekends) cannot think of anything worse, OK a long bank holiday weekend is fun but once the bank holiday Monday afternoon arrives I am gaging to get back to work, in fact I generally do work well at least monitor my e mails, whilst we in the UK are on holiday Europe and other continents where MM and Company represents DMCs are at work so I get to work too.
Looks like we won’t be seeing the sun anytime soon, the weather forecast people tell us that we are due another week of dull grey, wet, cold weather ahead, but stay with us March is on its way and I am confident we will all be able to sing The Beatles classic “here comes the sun” .
This Friday is Valentines Day, I remember the days I used to have a chiropractor standing by the door step and letter box to sort of the sprained back of our local postie as he struggled up the drive with huge post bags containing loads of post all addressed to MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE then a week later I used to have to hire a skip to recycle the Valentines cards now it a gazillion what’s app and text messages yeah I know its “delusional David” on steroids.
The Super Bowl took place yesterday between the Kansas Chiefs v The Philadelphia Eagles, CONGRATULATIONS to the winners The Philadelphia Eagles, but who took centre stage? It was Mr President Traumatic Tempestuous Tariff Jockey Trump, well why not he has the clout to get a ticket or two I wonder in Sir Kier our leader managed to blag a few free tickers and a couple of news suits and pairs of glasses thrown in for good measure
Talking of the shower that is trying and failing to run the country I see another Labour MP has had the chop, the Labour Health Minister Andrew Gwynne has gone due to posting dodgy what’s app messages. Twit!
Another twit this time Prick Putin has just lost the contract to supply energy to Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania could happen to anyone better the three counties have joined the European Power Grid, that should dent Prick Putin’s bank balance.
BITTERSWEET Soap box time
The bitter news today, it is 491 days since Israeli and other nations’ citizens were on 7th October 2023 wrenched violently from their homes, streets, fields and places of leisure in Israel and taken to be held hostage as pawns of war held in squalid conditions in the Hamas terror tunnels in Gaza. A total of 80 Israeli babies, toddlers, children, teens, women, men, seniors and other nationalities are still being held captive by a group of evil blood thirsty barbaric terrorists called Hamas.
The sweet news is that three more Israeli citizens who looked gaunt and starved have been released in return for 180 + criminals of Palestine. Who on earth negotiated this deal it’s a bit like pulling a band aid plaster of a hairy arm bit by bit by bit, instead of ripping the plaster off in one go. Let all the hostages go and the Israelis will let 2,000+ criminals and murders go as well, job done!
Off the soap box now
Yesterday was National Pizza Day did you indulge, my e mail in box was swamped by Pizza chains telling me it was time for a pizza, I will decide when it is time for a Pizza not some arbitrary marketing campaign.
OMG I bet no one can believe that Liverpool got beaten in the 4th round of the FA Cup by Plymouth Argyle. Congratulations to the underdog.
Finally I see Meghan and Harry The Duke of Sussex were at the latest edition of the Invictus Games in Vacouver Canada they get a lot of bad press some is justified a lot is not but this is a great initiative started by Prince Harry and he should be applauded for that .
That’s it from a David point of view for this week at least.
