Dateline 24th February 2025

Happy Monday, I hope you are well and that you managed to enjoy the super weather we had on Friday and Saturday, especially after the particularly cold preceding few days. I could feel the heat of the sun albeit distant, such a lovely change from my opening sentence of “stone the crows it’s a bit parky out there”.

As we cruise towards the end of the worse month of the year February, we can use the phrase “hope spring eternal” humm let me google that here is the result of my google search “Hope springs eternal in the human breast; Man never Is, but always To be blest. It turns out that Mr Pope was born in London, England May 21st 1688, Died May 30th 1744 he was a poet, he also wrote one of my favourite sayings “To err is human, to forgive, divine.”

Jyoti and Candy of TRAVCO DMC Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Oman together with Muge, Hande and the team at Blue DMC Turkey and Habib, Rachid, Lina and the team at Visit Morocco DMC have all told us that Ramadan is expected to begin on the evening of Friday 28th February 2025, and will conclude on the evening of Sunday 30th  March 2025, with the exact dates contingent upon the sighting of the new moon.

As you will read, I am travelling next week so I will miss telling you that next week we have St David’s Day, Shrove Tuesday which is Pancake Day and then Ash Wednesday oh so much going on. 

BITTERSWEET Soap box time

I am way, way, way too angry and upset at the recent situation with evil Hamas and the way they celebrated the return of four dead Israeli hostages that they had deliberately and wickedly executed whist in their “care” to add any comments. Then it turned out they had sent an unidentified body back to Israel purporting to be the mother of the two murdered babies. The authorities in Israel are way too clever to be duped by a random corpse, they have extensive DNA tracing capabilities they can determine exactly who they have, they have the forensic skills to determine how the person died.

The bitter news today, it is 505 days since Israeli and other nations’ citizens were on 7th October 2023 wrenched violently from their homes, streets, fields and places of leisure in Israel and taken to be held hostage as pawns of war held in squalid conditions in the Hamas terror tunnels in Gaza. A total of 67 Israeli children, teens, women, men, seniors and other nationalities are still being held captive by a group of evil blood thirsty barbaric terrorists called Hamas.

Finally, just to let you know there will be no Monday morning e mail next week I am travelling on a site inspection to Cancun and Tulum in Mexico I am meeting with Manuel, Liliana and the team at The EPIC Group DMC Mexico whom we at MM and Company have been proudly and I might add successfully representing since 1997 a long time. Two reasons for the longevity of our relationship,  we send The EPIC Group DMC RFPs that turn into confirmed groups thus giving Manuel and the team a positive return on their representing fees paid to MM and Company, the DMC in return deliver outstanding events to you our agency clients, sorted ! It goes without saying that I am totally contactable whilst I am away on 07710-031475 plus my awesome colleague Sandra will be in the office doing her thing as well as checking my e mails.
